In the past 3 moths Jess spent on Belfry Arch, she learned a lot.Not everybody cared for her, and she didn’t really cared about the others either, but she was sure she’d miss all these people. Before the final shut down, she decided to take a last walk around Belfry Arch.Emerson was laying in the ground outside.Dead.Marcy was laying in her bed, under the collapsed ceiling.Dead.Most of the people had left Belfry.Mollie left, Jason left, Jo left. She was the only one there. And in those moments, she finally realized. She couldn’t leave.
All these years, she’s been looking for her parents. Her friends. For a home.Izzy had really made her feel like she was loved. And only now Jess was realizing that Izzy for her was a second mother figure. She was regretting the fact she stabbed her.Mollie, Marcy. They were her family. But only now she was realizing it.Mollie left, and didn’t plan on coming back. And poor Marcy was dead.Belfry wasn’t exactly the best place for her to hang around at, especially at it’s current conditions, but she didn’t have a choice. This was her home.
When the cops finally put the Closed sign outside, and pulled out all the patients and doctors, Jess wasn’t there. She was inside. She made her way back to her room. After laying in her bed, and lighting up her cigarette, she gave one last look at her room. The walls filled with Mollie’s blood. The little Nirvana altar she build up.The bag of knives that was no longer under her bed, but outside of it, in front of her.Who would realize they were there now, if nobody knew she was there.A bloody knife above the night stand. The one she stabbed Izzy with. The lighter she used to make the fire with Marcy. All of her life build up in this place, and now, it was falling down.
She looked up at the ceiling.Going back outside was out of choice.Where would she stay? She was a lost soul.Outside, she didn’t fit in.Belfry now was empty, and it was the only place she fit in.Her eyes slowly started to shut down.A bottle of pills were standing next to her bed.A little smile appeared on her face.“You can sleep when you’re dead, baby.”She could sleep for eternity, knowing that she finally found the place she could call home.
Home at last…
